THE TROPHY HAS FINALLY LANDED IN THE NORTH!

What a ride! After 23 long years the 2nd Division Trophy is ours! To make it even more sweeter, the boys have had to deal with defeat in 2 straight Grand Finals before getting the job done. After the match the mood was one of relief, I don't think any of us could have dealt with 3 successive Grand Final losses. In saying that the resolve from the Norths Bulldogs Club would have pulled us through had the result not gone our way. Such is Rugby League, it can be won & lost on one play, that's why we love it, sometimes you win...others you loose, it's how you come back that counts.

The game was one topsy turvy affair, a rollercoaster of emotions. Wests got the first try within 5 mins of kicking off & it took us 15 mins to find our feet. Then with 5 mins to go inthe first with the boys now on a roll & leading Wests had a player binned for 10 mins & the wheels fell off. Wests hit back with tries either side of half time & if their usual sharp shooting goal kicker was on song the score line at that point could of been a lot different.

Then enter the experienced & calm heads of our play makers Jarryd Ward, Nathan Potter & Captain Coach Ellis Hurworth. The leaders steered the ship & set the boys on a path to glory! Eliis bagged his second try of the game & In a fitting end Nathan Potter crossed the line to seal the game.

It was a special occassion with two Club Legends playing their 250th games both on Grand Final Day - Andrew Stephens & Josh Brooks, both have been playing senior footy for Norths since 1999 & 1998 respectivley. What a way to celebrate!

Ellis Hurworth finished the match recieving the Man of the Match Award & the Illawarra Coal Shield Player of the Year Award, a proud & successful year for one of the hardest workers on & off the Field.

Thank you to all that have supported us throughout the year, Rugby LEague in the North is stronger than ever! We love you all & will see you in 2016 for our 70th Anniversary.
